VAT and the GRA
Invoices the GRA will accept
VAT, NHIL, GETFund and COVID levy worked out on every sale, printed on the receipt in the order the GRA expects, and kept in a ledger you can hand to an auditor.

What you get
Built for how Ghana charges tax
The levies, in the right order
NHIL, GETFund and the COVID levy are charged on the net amount; VAT is charged on the total after them. Getting that order wrong changes what you owe, so it is not left to whoever set the shop up.
Every rate named on the receipt
A customer sees each levy on its own line rather than one lump of tax. So does your accountant, and so does anyone from the GRA who asks.
Fiscal fields on the slip
The receipt carries the fields a fiscalised invoice has to show, including your TIN and the invoice number, on thermal and on A4.
A QR that opens the real invoice
Scanning the square on the receipt opens the invoice itself — the same link the customer gets by SMS — rather than a number nobody can check.
A ledger behind the numbers
Every sale posts to double-entry accounts, so the VAT you report is the VAT the books show, not a figure typed into a return at the end of the month.
Reprint any invoice, any time
Find a sale months later and print it again exactly as it was issued, with the tax lines it carried on the day.

Questions we get asked
Does TallyHubGh calculate VAT and the levies correctly?
Yes. NHIL, GETFund and the COVID levy are applied to the net amount, and VAT is applied to the total after those levies — the two-tier order the GRA uses. You set the rates once in Settings and every sale follows them.
Can I show each tax separately on the receipt?
Yes. Each levy prints on its own named line rather than being collapsed into one tax figure, on thermal receipts and on A4 invoices.
Does it keep a record I can give an auditor?
Yes. Sales post to a double-entry ledger with a chart of accounts, journals and a trial balance, so the tax figures can be traced back to the invoices behind them.
Can a customer verify an invoice?
Yes. Every invoice can carry a QR code and a link to its own page. Scanning or tapping it opens the invoice itself, so a customer can check what they were charged.
